Surrogacy is a method of third-party assisted reproduction whereby intended parents work with a gestational carrier to give birth to their genetic baby. How Does Egg Donation works?
Egg donation is a method of assisted reproduction whereby the oocytes (eggs) of a third-party female are used to procreate. Eggs are used with the sperm of the intended parent(s) to create embryos for implantation.
Egg donation is typically used when there is a medical indication such as low ovarian reserve, when a genetic disease may be passed onto a baby, or for single males or same-sex couples.

How surrogacy works legally in Colombia?
The act of surrogacy is not explicitly discussed in the Constitution of Colombia, but it does allow for all forms of procreation including scientific which makes the process allowable.
In fact, there is legal precedent supporting surrogate contracts and the surrogacy act through a Constitutional Court decision. The Civil Code also has a mechanism in place for recognizing the genetic parents of a baby born through surrogacy. The Constitution does not allow discrimination including against same-sex couples or foreigners who are afforded the same rights.

Do I have legal representation through the whole process?
Yes, you will have legal representation from the very beginning, until you receive the birth certificate for your baby, and throughout any court process that may be needed to remove the surrogate mother from the birth certificate.
Where should I stay on my first visit?
You may choose to stay anywhere but the most convenient location is in the 4 star hotel which is in the same building as the fertility clinic. This makes for a smooth and efficient process.
Am I able to ship sperm or embryos at the beginning of the program and sign my contract remotely?
You may ship biological materials, but an initial visit for signing is a prerequisite of the program, but it can be as short as 2 working days.
